  • Overview

    As a strategic partner, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues and will act as employee champion and change agent. The HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, and communicates needs proactively to the HR department and business management.  The HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions, and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the company’s financial position, its mid-range plans, its culture, and its competition.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct weekly meetings with respective departments/business units
    • Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate
    • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required
    • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
    • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation
    • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
    • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
    • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met
    • Travel to participate in regional meetings

    Qualifications

    Education and Work Experience

    • Minimum of 8 years of the related experience including the resolution of complex employee relation issues
    • BA/BS degree required; PHR/SPHR preferred
    • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, recruitment, development, engagement, benefits, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
    • Multiple site experience
    • Matrix reporting relationship a plus
