The primary role of a IT Security Support Specialist is to provide centralized knowledge, expertise, and analysis for the delivery of IT Security services (CE-IT) to clients by TRIMEDX field operations. In this supporting role, the individual be instrumental in the execution and successful delivery of these services by the TRIMEDX Clinical Engineering program through the provision of technical research, data management, auditing, reporting and analysis, remote technical support, integrated knowledge creation, and engaging in active vulnerability response activities as deemed necessary.


  • Research, understand and process technical and/or medical equipment documentation, data, and information; create and/or manage knowledge documentation, OS & device control profiles, and/or other integrated toolsets.
  • Provide professional expertise, guidance and assistance in the area of IT Security services, including Medical Device Security, HIPAA Compliance, and Medical Device Integration (MDI) to the business and field operations.
  • Serve as an expert related to networked, connected, and/or integrated medical devices and systems and security requirements.
  • Work with vendors regarding hardware and software patch management for medical equipment serviced by TRIMEDX.
  • Provide technical, reporting and/or data management support to field leaders, technicians, and the business for escalated issues related to Medical Device Security, HIPAA Compliance, and/or Medical Device Integration.
  • Supports the development and execution of CE-IT services and capabilities.
  • Provide input into new features and capabilities for CE-IT services.
  • Seek out new sources of information and data to support the CE-IT services program.
  • Assist with monitoring and quality checking the TRIMEDX Clinical Engineering program CE-IT data; support processes and procedures to ensure associates are capable of and maintaining the connected device inventory with information in TRIMEDX’ internal field service work order management platform; including, but not limited to, IP addresses, MAC addresses, AE titles, OS information, firmware versions, application versions, security attributes, equipment criticality and recovery information.


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or Security, and/or training in an equivalent technical program strongly preferred) is required
  • 2+ years of IT Desktop Support with experience doing enterprise wide management of software levels and patching
  • Network, security, sysadmin and/or other relevant certifications (ex. SSCP, GISP, CRISC, HCISPP) strongly preferred
  • Significant experience with computer operating systems and patch management is required
  • Significant experience with information systems and networking is required
  • Experience researching and evaluating the adequacy of security designs and/or capabilities
  • Experience reviewing and addressing application and platform vulnerabilities
  • Experience conducting security risk and remediation analyses
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, datacenters, integrations and enterprise IT security
  • Understanding of regulatory, industry standards, and compliance concepts and frameworks
  • Experience and/or training in project management strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of ITSM frameworks (ITIL)
