Lead a team of field-based medical equipment service experts that supports our hospital-customers in the greater Sacramento area.


The Field Support Manager leads Imaging and Lab clinical engineering initiatives in collaboration with Site Managers to provide superior customer service, operational efficiency, and patient safety.  He/she also oversees and leads the field service personnel who perform Imaging and Lab and Biomed services including maintenance, and repair of equipment. He/she oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. The Field Service Manager would also look for and present strategic ways to improved performance.


Leadership – 40%

  • Apply knowledge and experience of technology and/or equipment to oversee field operations and provide direction to others
  • Motivate others through praise, recognition, and rewards
  • Manage personnel by staffing and scheduling technicians in a manner that assures the best service possible
  • Coach and mentor technicians by providing feedback on performance and documentation habits
  • Mentor, coach, and develop others to deliver continuous service excellence

Customer Service – 30%

  • Recognizing the main customer is the Site Manager/Regional Director, build and maintain relationships with customers by employing interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Collaborate with other Field Support Engineering Managers and the OEM Area Service Managers
  • Effectively collaborate with the customer and vendors to develop win-win solutions.


Functional/Technical Service Management – 30%

  • Ensure the performance of scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on medical devices
  • Ensure the install and calibration of medical devices assigned to the team
  • Ensure performance, troubleshooting, service, and repairs of medical equipment
  • Ensure that the Site Manager is advised of equipment status and ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
  • Manage financial performance and perform financial analysis


Education and Work Experience

  • Associates degree in electronics or related technical discipline required or Military equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technological field preferred
  • Background in managing Field Service group preferred
  • Background in Imaging and/or Lab preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage day to day and long term field operations
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
  • Ability to manage day-to-day and long term field operations
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop others
  • Ability to analyze field business and present plan to strategically improve
  • Rarely required to bend, crouch, climb, balance, or otherwise maneuver body to perform equipment and/or environment of care inspections
  • Occasionally required to grab, grasp, or otherwise handle tools to teach and mentor technicians
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Problem Solving ability
  • Proper work delegation techniques and strategies
