The Director, Marketing & Communications (DMC), in collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer, develops the overall marketing strategy to drive awareness for the TRIMEDX brand and campaigns to drive client retention, engagement, increase market share, and the employee value proposition. He/She is responsible for the development and implementation of a robust internal communication program, public relations, digital presence, events, external communications and collateral materials.  The DMC should possess a passion for measuring performance of activities to identify opportunities for improvement and to continually develop the team and overall marketing organization.


Communications and Brand

  • Develops and implements an integrated strategic communications and marketing plan to raise the profile of TRIMEDX, associated offerings and customer initiatives, including the tactics and resources necessary to achieve goals
  • Ensure brand standards are enforced and optimized across channels. This includes advertising, product literature, promotional items, website, signage, etc.
  • Works with the leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications and marketing opportunities, and defines and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Assist with executive communications, including presentations, written communications and videos
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure proper messaging of brand and service offerings.


PR and Community Relations

  • Serves as the spokesperson and lead point person to media for all interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization or if appropriate selects and manages outside partner
  • Partners with solutions team and leadership to develop and oversee thought leadership strategy to enhance corporate position as a market leader.
  • Identifies and develops appropriate response options to challenges and emerging communications and marketing issues
  • Exercises sound judgment to prioritize media opportunities, prepares talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed;
  • Oversee media relation functions to ensure positive coverage of TRIMEDX, special events, public announcements and other projects. Includes the writing of press releases, copy for marketing materials, reports, advertisements, and other related material. Actively develop story ideas, draft and edit press releases, interface with editors and pursue earned media.

Digital Presence

  • Establish digital strategy to support overall marketing objectives
  • Oversees the website and social media platforms
  • Work with staff on content development, including drafting and editing content. Work with lead generation team on copy for lead nurturing campaigns
  • Manage social media presence and identify areas to improve engagement and monitor metrics that improve traffic to these sites. Develop copy for ads, collateral, blogs, white papers, sales sheets, etc.

Campaign Execution

  • Review and update marketing collateral to align with messaging and brand standards.
  • Oversee tradeshow activities including budget, presence, message strategies and lead generation activities.
  • Lead agencies, freelancers, and internal team members where appropriate to execute all communication activities and public relations (marketing materials, advertising, client communications, direct mail, marketing campaigns, press releases, content for case studies, etc.).

Marketing Operations and Team Development

  • Oversees the day-to-day activities of the marketing and communication functions, including budgeting, planning, and staff development;
  • Creates, executes, manages, and evaluates a company-wide marketing reporting and analytics function that can track, measure, and analyze brand performance and audience awareness. Works closely with marketing intelligence team to have actionable insights to create ROI for key marketing activities.
  • Identify, select, and implement necessary marketing technology to support the overall goals of the organizations
  • (ie…CRM, Email marketing, marketing analytics)
  • Work with business to establish appropriate approval process for all marketing content and establish policies and procedures to support
  • Recruits and manages a diverse and excellent communications and marketing team to support the development and execution of the communications and marketing plan; mentor and develops staff
  • Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct and annual performance appraisals



  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or other related field is required; Master's or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively increasing experience and responsibility in a communications and marketing senior management role is required;
  • Extensive writing and editing experience including press releases, marketing literature, customer communications, and online content
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications and marketing specialists is required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Clearly demonstrated media research capabilities, with a sophisticated understanding of healthcare and an innate intellectual curiosity
  • Experience with vendor selection and management
