Overview

The Accounts Receivables (AR) Specialist is primarily responsible for collections, including issuing customer statements, performing all collections activity, and collaborating with others to reconcile outdated accounts. The AR Specialist also maintains AR processes, monitors all AR accounts on a monthly basis, and plays a key role in managing relationships with customers and field service managers by responding to AR questions and concerns.

Responsibilities

Collections (40%)

  • Issue customer statements
  • Perform all collections activity, including customer phone calls, emails, etc.
  • Work with customers, field managers, and finance management to bring resolution to outdated accounts
  • Maintain a log of customer contact

Account Management (30%)

  • Maintain and monitor AR processes
  • Monitor all AR accounts on a monthly basis
  • Manage relationships with customers and field service managers
  • Research and respond to all customer AR questions
  • Issue credit memos to clean up customer accounts as needed

Invoice Processing (20%)

  • Create, print, and distribute monthly contact invoices and Time and Material billing

Reporting (10%)

  • Provide management with accurate and timely reports of all AR activity
  • Create month end reports

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; finance concentration preferred
  • Minimum 1 year office experience interfacing with customers
  • Experience in AR and/or customer problem resolution preferred

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) required; knowledge of Great Plains preferred
  • Ability to perform intermediate Excel functions, commands, and processing techniques
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time while working on multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members
  • Analytical thinking skills to perform analysis and develop accurate conclusions
  • Interpersonal and conflict management skills to build and maintain relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
